William Grace Obituary

William Charles Grace, retired retail clerk and Navy Shipman, died of heart disease in his Monroeville home on February 6th, 2023.  William, more commonly known as Bill, was born January 19, 1953 in State College, PA.  Bill was born to Robert and Mary Grace, who predeceased him. His sister, Ohio State Senator, Merle Grace Kearns also predeceased Bill.

Bill served during the Vietnam War.  He was present in the final days of the war, on board ship that transported soldiers home.  Bill believed in supporting veterans, seniors and children.  He loved the sea and his family.


William Grace is survived by his siblings, Aura Ellen Dean and husband Jack Dean of Pittsburgh, Edward Santana Grace and wife Ruth Santana Grace of Philadelphia, Maryanne Wilson and husband Tom Wilson of San Jose, CA, Robert Grace of Boltiere, Italy, and Deborah Grace and husband Tom Lee of Seattle, WA, 14 nieces/nephews and 19 great nieces/nephews.


Interment with military honors will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on September 8, 2023 at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to any Veteran’s Organizations.
