Walter Szramowski, Jr.
Age 85, of Monroeville, passed away peacefully after his battle with dementia, on April 1, 2020 at Arden Courts. Beloved husband of Marie (Novak) Szramowski, who married on April 24, 1954. Loving father of Deborah (Tomas) Vasquez, Cynthia (Angelo) DeRiggi, and Cheryl (Carmen) Parise. Adored grandfather of Adrienne (Robert) Ramirez, Andrea Vasquez, Christopher (Megan) DeRiggi, Joshua DeRiggi, Michael Parise, Maria Parise, and Robert (Christine) Parise. Cherished great grandfather of Isabella, Sophia and Mila DeRiggi. Also survived by his brother, Henry (the late Jean) Szramowski; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary (Wisniewski) Szramowski, Sr.; brothers, Stanley (surviving wife, Evelyn) Szramowski and Arthur (Dolores) Szramowski; and sister, Ruth (Edward) Ozimek. Walter was proud of his heritage and enjoyed growing up on Polish Hill. He successfully managed his own insurance and investment agency, developing many long lasting friendships. Being a father of three girls and coaching them growing up, he continued that love of coaching girls basketball and softball at St. Suzanna Church and basketball at St. Bernadette Church for nearly 20 years. He loved to travel with his wife, and always looked forward to family vacations together. Walter's compassionate and outgoing personality will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. The family will be having a memorial Mass at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish, St. Bernadette Church at a later time. Arrangements by the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC.
