Violet Marie (Waltermire) Ludwig

Age 86 of Monroeville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Edwin Ludwig. Loving mother of Paul Roger (Patrice Hlad) Ludwig, Mark Ludwig, and Brian (Michelle) Ludwig. Proud grandmother of Brian Jr. and Amanda (Josh) Horne. Great-grandmother of Noah and Luke. Also survived by her siblings, Clyde (Linda) Waltermire, Benjamin (Marie) Waltermire, Thomas (Elizabeth) Waltermire, Patricia (Dale) Stotler, Margaret (Alan) Webber, Nancy (Foster) Constable, Donald (Linda) Waltermire, Mary Lou (James) Emigh, and Judy (the late Gail) McQueen; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Veda (Stiles) Waltermire; and sister, Thelma Waltermire. Violet was an alumnus of Indiana State Teachers College, now IUP, and went on to earn her Master of Arts Degree from West Virginia University in business and education. She was a dedicated teacher for over 34 years, with the last 28 of those years at the Community College of Allegheny County. Violet was a long-time, active member of the Monroeville United Methodist Church. She presided over and facilitated meetings of NAMI McKeesport Area and also served on the board of Mon-Yough Community Services and MYCS Recovery Advisory Board. Family and friends will be received Friday, October 8, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Monroeville United Methodist Church. Burial will be private at Laurel Swamp Union Cemetery in Indiana, PA.
