In loving memory of Sylvia Moiseenko Foley, 89, who peacefully passed away on November 30th, 2023. Sylvia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elmer G. Foley, on February 22, 2022, and by her siblings Dolly, Nina, Margaret, Helen, and Joe Steven Moiseenko, as she was the last surviving of her several brothers and sisters. She was born on December 8, 1933, to Stephen and Sophia Moiseenko. Sylvia leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Arnie, whom had a great affection for her and will forever cherish her memory; her most nearest and dearest friends that she considered family and could count on anytime day or night, Butch, Mario, Caleb, Jeff, Carol, Dan, Alex, and David; and her most outstanding caregivers in this world, Kristy, Renae, Becky, Judy, Mary, and Linda, of whom all will hold their personal memories of her close to their hearts forever.
Sylvia's life was an embodiment of kindness, compassion, and selflessness. Alongside her sister Dolly, she co-founded Eliza Personal Care Home, tirelessly caring for others and operating for many years. Her dedication to serving the community extended beyond Eliza PCH, as she volunteered and generously supported St. Anne Home in Greensburg. Her selfless nature was also reflected in her involvement as a board member of the organization. She was a shining example of unwavering support and devotion to those in need.
Known for her crafty nature, Sylvia delighted in making ceramic eggs and candies, spreading joy to others through her thoughtful creations. She even ventured into a small business, selling some of her crafts, but her greatest joy came from gifting them to bring smiles to the faces of those she cared for. Her generosity knew no bounds, as she donated to various charities, embodying the true spirit of giving. Professionally, Sylvia served as an executive assistant for Mesta Machine Company, where she exhibited invaluable dedication, efficiency, and professionalism. Her impact and influence extended well beyond her professional endeavors, resonating in the countless lives she touched.
Sylvia's deep love for animals was evident in her life, especially in her most recent companion that she adored, a cat named Puddy, and her affections are still remembered for her several beloved Min Pins, all affectionately named Mindy, as well as her cherished German Shepherd, Gretta. The joy and companionship she found in caring for animals was a testament to her nurturing and loving nature.
In addition to her professional career, Sylvia devoted herself wholeheartedly to her husband Elmer and their life on the farm they created. She enjoyed helping Elmer tend to the many daily chores on the farm, always willing to put on her mucking boots to get the job done. Her dedication to her family and her willingness to embrace all aspects of life exemplified her unwavering spirit. Anyone near and dear to Sylvia would generally receive one of her "Love Gift" envelopes that contained not only a few dollars, but most importantly always included a biblical scripture passage. One of her many ways of spreading her deep faith in God is "Love", which she shared freely, never counting the cost.
Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects and honor Sylvia's remarkable life on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the Bash-Nied-Jobe Funeral Home, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, where visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of the Blessing Service at 11 AM. The interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Syl was a tremendous supporter of animal causes and organizations.
