Age 91 of Wilkins Twp., formerly of Morningside, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. Loving father of Larry (Lori) Ruppel, Susan (Steve) Reckitt, and Mark (Megan) Ruppel. Proud grandfather of Maggie, Rowan and Riley Ruppel. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and life long friend, Pat Bieno. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Eileen M. (Diggin) Ruppel, parents, Lawrence and Marcella (Rowan) Ruppel, brother Thomas (Kathleen) Ruppel and sister Ursula (the late Charles) Gordon.
Bob was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and went on to earn his bachelors degree from the Franciscan University of Steubenville. He played four years on the Baron’s basketball team. He honorably served in the US Army during the Korean War in the 447th Signal Battalion. Following his military service he worked as a salesman for Noxell Corporation/Procter & Gamble, retiring after 31 years as Mid-Atlantic Regional Sales Manager. Bob loved his friends from Morningside who were known as the “Barney Boys” and was a die-hard Steelers and Pittsburgh sports fan. He took great pride and was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.
