Robert Clyde Florek, 78, of Penn Township, died on Saturday, March 20, 2021 in his home. He was born on August 1, 1942 in Greensburg, to the late Joseph and Ethel (LaSitis) Florek. Bob retired from the US Marine Corps as a Gunnery Sergeant. He served three tours in Vietnam earning 32 Air Medals, a Navy Achievement Medal, several other awards and citations, and Bronze Stars for courageously rescuing other Marines in battle. He enjoyed computer games and going to the casinos, Sunday football games, and loved gardening with his great-niece and nephew. Bob is survived by a son, Robert C. (wife Tina) Florek; two grandchildren, Paige and Mason Florek; a brother and three sisters, Rodney (wife Diane) Florek, Loretta (husband Michael Sr.) Morocco, Patricia (husband John) Seder, and Carol Loughner; sisters-in-law, Connie Florek and Mary Lou Florek; and many nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Chad I. Florek; and two brothers, Joseph Florek and Richard Florek. Visitation, services, and interment with military honors will be private for Bob's immediate family.
