Rachel C. (Smith) Sekora, age 85, of Penn Township, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at William Penn Care Center, and is now back in the loving arms of her husband whom she dearly missed. She was born on June 1, 1937 to the late Richard F. and Catharine (Schweinsburg) Smith. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, William J. Sekora, Sr. and by her son, William J. Sekora, Jr. Before retirement she was employed by Lawrence W. Walter, P.A. of Jeannette for 24 years, along with taking care of the family business, Sekora’s Asphalt Paving. Rachel is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Ann (Dominick) Fanell of Mt. Pleasant; two grandsons, Matthew Stewart (Gretchen) of Greensburg and Jeremy Fanell of Mt. Pleasant; great granddaughter, Micaelah Becar; siblings, Cora L. Greiner Davis of Greensburg, Richard W. (Nancy) Smith of Greensburg, and Charles E. (Maureen) Smith of Pittsburgh; and sister-in-law Margaret A. (Richard) Cornman of Tennessee, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their thanks to William Penn Care Center and especially to Chris and Cindy with Promedica Hospice for all their excellent care and compassion over the past year and a half. At Rachel’s request there will be no visitation and burial will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to the Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City.
