Naomi L. Henderson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, in the presence of her children and loving family. She was born March 28, 1933, to Lucy and Franklin Barber in Pittsburgh, PA. She attended Pittsburgh public schools and graduated from Westinghouse High School in 1951. She moved to Washington D.C. and worked as a secretary/key-punch operator where she met her future husband, United States Air Force Airman Paul B. Henderson. They were united in holy matrimony on April 9, 1955 in Pittsburgh, PA, traveling the world together and were married for 58 years. This union produced three children. Once TSGT Henderson retired, she moved back to Greensburg, PA, where she worked for the Social Security Office until she retired. Naomi was a life member of the NAACP, former chairperson of the Veteran Affairs, chairman of NAACP Housing Committee, member of the Women of the NAACP, member of Women Aglow, former helper of Fairview Park and member of Living Word Congregational Church. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Franklin Barber and Lucy Bolen; her loving husband, Rev. Paul B. Henderson; her brother, Franklin; and sister, Ruth. She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Sharon R. Henderson-Davis and son-in law Rudy, daughter Sherry J. Dickerson and son-in-law Mitchell, her son Jamie P. Henderson and daughter-in-law Terry; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends. Friends will be received Thursday, December 2, from 5-8 PM at Bash-Nied-Jobe Funeral Home. 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 3, at 10:30 AM in the Living Word Congregational Church, 2003 Ridge Road, Jeannette, PA 15644.
