Myrtle Edith (Lawrence) Szalanczy

Myrtle Edith (Lawrence) Szalanczy, age 74, of Turtle Creek, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Joseph Alvin Szalanczy; loving mother of Irene Fehir and Diane Szalanczy; caring grandmother of DJ, Karen (Allen), Jonathan, Mark and Amanda; adoring great-grandmother of Olivia, Jayden, Ethan, Chloe, Jayce, Juels and Layla. She was affectionately known as "Grandma Larry" to Karen, Mark and Jayden. Myrtle is also survived by siblings Joseph (Stella) Lawrence and James M. (Kathleen) Lawrence. She was preceded in death by parents, Orbin Lewis and Edith Lawrence; and siblings, Charles Lawrence, Buddy (Dolores) Lawrence and Beatrice (Ray) Hall. She was a good cook, liked all crafts and loved to play BINGO. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. corner of Shaw & Triboro Avenues, Turtle Creek (412-823-1950), where a funeral service will conclude visitation at 7:30 PM with Evangelist Covey Wise officiating.
