Mildred Barton Obituary

Mildred May Barton 88, died on June 27, 2021, at The Neighborhoods of Walden’s View, North Huntington, with Wayne and Pam by her side. Millie was born November 17, 1932 in McCullough, a daughter of the late Frank “Red” and Louise (Yuvan) Seslar. Millie was preceded in death by the true love of her life, her high school sweetheart Russell Lee, being married for 66 years. In addition, Millie was preceded in death by sisters Betty Lou and Thelma, a brother James, and dearest sister-in-law Betty Lindh, and a granddaughter Emily Allison Barton. Millie is survived by her two sons, son Thomas and his wife Tracy of Mexico and step-grandson Mike of Wisconsin, son Wayne and his wife, Pam of Paintertown, and their two sons, Owen Russell of Toledo, OH, and Jared Lee of Arlington, VA. Also surviving is a very special niece Donna Lindh, of Lower Burrell, a sister Norma (Tykie) Kennedy, a brother Bobby Seslar, and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Millie worked at Jeannette Glass while Russ served in the Korean War. She later became a library aide at Sunrise Elementary School for 28 years, a job she started as a volunteer and then was hired by the district. As the years passed, she was always joyed when a past student would say, “Hi Mrs. Barton”, as she was remembered by many. She could not believe she got paid to read to children. Her next role in life, and one of her most important, was being a wonderful “Meemaw” to Owen and Jared, attending with Russ numerous baseball, soccer and basketball games, birthday parties, holidays and every special event that happened. She hosted unlimited sleep-overs, dinners and breakfasts for the boys. She was a longtime member of Paintertown Lutheran Church. We want to thank the wonderful folks at Walden’s View for their outstanding care of Millie, and special nurse Barb of Gallagher Hospice Care who helped Millie and us through her final journey. In lieu of any flowers, please consider donations to Paintertown Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 Government Road, Irwin, PA 15642 or the Paintertown Volunteer Fire Department, 1010 Tray Road, Irwin, PA 15642.
