Mary Jane (Folino) Short

Mary Jane (Folino) Short, 84, of Strongsville, OH, formerly of Harrison City, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 23, 2021 in Middleburg Heights, OH. Mary Jane, also known as "Butch", was born on November 10, 1936 in McKeesport. She was raised in Pitcairn by her parents, the late Samuel and Esther (Romano) Folino, and raised her own family in Harrison City. Prior to moving to Strongsville, she lived in Delray Beach, FL, for five years. Butch retired from Jeannette District Memorial Hospital in 2001, where she had been an X-Ray clerk, and was a parishioner of St. Barbara Catholic Church. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan and loved to travel. Butch is survived by her loving children, James A. Ross, Gordon C. (wife Megan) Short, and Gregory S. (wife Gail) Short; a brother, Robert (wife Cathy) Folino; loving Nonna to five grandchildren, Angelo Ross, Mallory Short, Charlie Short, Hudson Short, and Eleanor "Ellie" Short; nieces and nephews, Valerie Fox, Vickie (husband John) Bush, Robert Folino, Melissa (husband Randy) Sequete, and Ryan Folino; and Great Zia to Alex and Evan Sequete, Austin Fox, Braelynn Bush, and Carmela Folino. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gordon Arthur Short; and brothers, Anthony and infant James Folino. Friends will be received Wednesday, July 28 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 29 at 11 AM at St. Barbara Catholic Church, Harrison City. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.
