Mary Mangone Raspanti, age 89, of Plum Borough, formerly Mount Washington, passed away on February 8, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, John J. Raspanti, whom she married in 1957. They were married for 62 years and served as a guiding force for countless family members and friends. Mary was born in 1932, in Pittsburgh to the late Pietro and Mary Mangone, who immigrated to the United States from Calabria, Italy. She was preceded in death by her three siblings, Domenic Mangone, Antoinette Palazzo and Adeline Manfredi. She is survived by, and was a devoted mother to, her four children, Joseph (Lisa), Peter (Robbin), Julie (John) Marengo and Tina Raspanti; she was a cherished ‘Nana’ to her six grandchildren, Rachel, John (Amanda), Carli, Jessica, Alana and Domenic; as well as her two great-granddaughters, Briella and Maisie. Mary graduated from St. Mary of the Mount in 1950 before going to work at The Pennsylvania Railroad. Mary treasured her time spent with her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren will cherish their countless memories sitting around her kitchen table playing cards and eating their Nana’s homemade cookies. Mary was welcoming and loving to all - always ready to share a warm hug or meal to anyone who entered her home. A private visitation for family will be on Friday, February 11 from 4-7 PM at the Jobe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., (Monroeville/Plum Chapel) 445 Beatty Rd, Monroeville, 412-856-4747. A Funeral Mass celebrating the lives of Mary and John will be held at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish - St. Bernadette Church, Monroeville, on Saturday, February 12 at 10:00 AM.
