Kathleen Smith
Age 76 of Trafford passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021. Born on November 24, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Edward Opatkiewicz and Ethel Rutkowski. Kathleen spent her working years as an English teacher for Highland High School. In her younger years she was the Ardmore Skating Rink Roller Queen, and she loved to spend her time dancing, skiing, taking pictures, and riding motorcycles. She is survived by her siblings; Edward (Cindy Lincoln) Opat, Walter (Gerri) Opat, Nancy (Noel) Pierce, and Ted Rutkowski; dear friends, Michael Horid, and Peter Chiocca; as well as many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her sister Joyce Opatkiewicz, step father George Rutkowski, and step mother Catherine Opatkiewicz. All funeral services for Kathleen will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 118 Shaw Avenue, Turtle Creek (412-823-1950. Interment will be at New St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Kathleen's name. Online condolences can be shared at www.jobefuneralhome.com.
