Joseph J. Cocco, age 100, of Harrison City, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 in his home. He was born on January 5, 1921 in White Valley, to the late Nick and Erma (Seccia) Cocco. Joe was a World War II Navy veteran. Before and after his service, he worked for Westinghouse, eventually retiring after many years of employment. During this time, he ran his father's store for 10 years, Cocco's Shoe Repair. He had been a member of the former Sons of Columbus in Export. He loved shopping, talking to his friends, and watching old-time movies. Joe is survived by his loving children, Carol A. (husband James) Lauffer and Nick J. (wife Georgiann) Cocco; two grandchildren, Erik (wife Stacey) Lauffer and Melissa (husband Shane) Cox; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Cox and Wyatt Lauffer; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Josephine (Mazock) Cocco; and four sisters, Ann DeFlorio, Teresa Quinten, Mary Buckley, and Elizabeth Hamada. Friends will be received Tuesday, March 9 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721, where a funeral liturgy will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 10. Face masks and social distancing will be required. Interment with military honors will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery - Denmark Manor.
