Joseph W. "Bill" Amsler, Sr., age 90 of Monroeville, PA passed away on January 11, 2021 at UPMC East in Monroeville. Joseph was born on June 24, 1930 to the late John and Christine (Ferguson) Amsler.
Bill was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked and retired as a painter for Equitable Gas and later became a beloved, 20-year presence at Bob's Inn and also Ferri's IGA Super Market. He was loved and will be missed by all that knew him. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at UPMC East for their exceptional care and support.
He is survived by his children, Karen (Vincent Roberto-Fiancé) Conti, and Joseph W. Amsler, Jr.; granddaughter, Jamie Starr Conti; great-grandson, Cash Waylon; brother-in-law, Donald Buzzard; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and by his siblings.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Per CDC guidelines, masks are required upon entry and only 20 people will be permitted in the visitation room at one time. A private Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Plum Creek Cemetery.
