Van Lenten Jr. John A. "Whitey" age 89, of Murrysville, formerly of Monroeville, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. Beloved husband of 62 years to Joan (Kendrick) Van Lenten. Loving father of Lisa Costa, Leslie (Spencer) Ford, John (Eleanor) Van Lenten, Lynne (Mel) Korbini, Janice (Jim) Hunter, Tracy (Bill) Manfredo, and Michael (Beth) Van Lenten; adored grandfather of Dennis, Christopher, Matthew Costa, Hayden Ford, John (Jamie) Van Lenten, Mackenzie Van Lenten, Adrianne Popeck, Brooke Celaschi, Hayley (Joel) Peters, Jake (Marisa) Hunter, Colin Hunter, Kori and William Manfredo, Michael Jr., Meghan, Jacob, and Aiden Van Lenten; great grandfather of Cooper, Emily, & Luke Van Lenten; brother of Ronald (Claire) Van Lenten, Betty Britt, and the late Norma Palacio and Doris McNally. John was an Airman, First Class, Korean Conflict Veteran. He was a loyal Gulf Oil Corporation employee for 40 years and a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies fan. He enjoyed trying his luck at the casino and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) corner of (445) Beatty Rd. & 48 North, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette Parish Saturday, 10 AM. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH.
