John B. Hilty, Sr.

John B. Hilty Sr., 95, of Salem Township, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 22, 1926, in Greensburg, to the late John and Minnie (Kemerer) Hilty. John was the former Governor of the MOOSE in Greensburg. He loved farming, square dancing and would do anything for anyone. He was a great family man who, above all, loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John is survived by his children, Beverly J. (Thomas) Kellner, Deborah A. (Charles) Zilliot, John B. Hilty Jr., Richard W. Hilty, Marcie L. (Richard) Baker and Mark A. Hilty; grandchildren, Jennifer Chobirko, Thomas E. Kellner Jr., Stacey Klug, Christopher Hilty, Joshua Hilty, Daniel Hilty, Rebecca Hilty, Faith Hilty and Richard W. Hilty Jr.; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn  Chobirko, Marissa Chobirko, Mark Chobirko Jr., Zoe Klug, Ava Klug, Natalie Hilty, Emma Rodgers, Ryan Rodgers, Layla Hilty, Kristopher Kellner and Collin Kellner; and sisters, Nancy Jobe and Gertrude E. Hilty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Betty J. (Long) Hilty; and siblings, James D. Hilty, Elmer H. Hilty, Sarah Koszucki, Anna Long, Harry P. Hilty, Frank L. Hilty, Myrtle Schall and Charles S. Hilty. Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 - 8 PM and Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 PM at Bash-Nied-Jobe Funeral Home, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont (724-468-8381), where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM.
