John Grubich, 96, of Delmont, entered life eternal on Thursday, June 23, 2022. He was born on December 5, 1925 in Export, PA, to George Sr. and Cvieta (Bogdanovich) Grubich. John was a longtime active member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a World War II Navy veteran, member of J.R. Ewing American Legion Post 247 in Delmont, and over 50-year member of Loyal Order of the Moose in Export. John was a retiree of Westinghouse Air Brake, but his best work was his family, and his proudest job was his grandchildren who loved their Pap. He also enjoyed golfing and participated in two leagues until the age of 94. John is survived by his loving children, Gary and Nancy Grubich and Lori and Doug Harr, all of Delmont; cherished grandchildren, Emily and Jeff Sybesma, Jesse and Bridget Harr, Zachary Harr, and Jacob Harr; great-grandchildren, Grace, Anna, and Violet Sybesma and Paxton and Kiera Harr; and three nephews, Kevin Bortz, Sam Grubich, and Buzz Grubich. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 72 years, Evelyn Ruth (Moonis) Grubich; five siblings, Miller, Samuel, Nick, George, and Mary; and a nephew, Keith Bortz. Friends will be received Sunday, June 26 from 1-5 PM at Bash-Nied-Jobe Funeral Home, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont (724-468-8381). Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 27 at 10:30 AM at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Delmont, with Rev. Kara Propst, officiating. Burial will be in the Eastview Union Cemetery. John was a quiet man and a loyal friend with a kind and loving heart, and to honor him, his family extends the invitation to all in attendance to join them for a meal at the church following the burial. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Lutheran Church, 301 E Pittsburgh St, Delmont, PA 15626.
