Jean Helen (Katchur) Figel, age 90, passed away on March 30, 2021, at the home of her son in Fairfax, VA. She was the beloved wife of John Edward Figel for 62 years who preceded her in death in 2014; loving mother of John "Jack" Figel, of Fairfax, VA., Judi Figel and Joyce (Robert) Sabo, of Monroeville; adored grandmother of Kathryn and John Sabo; sister of Marge and brother-in-law John Lubinski of Uniontown; and is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Jean was dedicated to her family and the Byzantine Catholic Church as parish secretary and catechist at SS Peter and Paul in Duquesne, and at the diocesan religious education office. She was also respected by many in her role as Girl Scout Leader. Friends will be received 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday (Memorial Prayer at 7 p.m.) at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY INC., corner of (118) Shaw and Triboro avenues, Turtle Creek, 412-823-1950. Per CDC guidelines, masks are required, and social distancing will be observed. Visitation will continue at 9 a.m. on Thursday at St. Stephen’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 50 Bethel Road, Irwin before the Byzantine Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.
