Ida Rose Gillespie

Ida Rose Gillespie of Plum passed away May 14, 2023. She was born July 17, 1934 to Antonio and Caterina (Gigliotti) Nicolazzo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Gillespie, Sr.; her beloved grandson, Aaron Rieck; and her brothers, Phillip, John "Pat", and Anthony "Tony". Ida is survived by her loving and devoted children, Eva Marie (David) Rieck, James, Jr., and Lisa (John) Sarneso; her cherished grandchildren, Catherine Rieck, Elizabeth and Caroline Sarneso; and her sister Angeline. Ida graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1953, then to business school which prepared her for a career as the comptroller for The Mindlin Company. She was an active member of Holy Family Parish, Plum (formally Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church). Friends will be received Friday, May 19, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Sat., May 20 at Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.
