George Clair Shearer
Age 78 of Monroeville, PA, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021. Born on March 22, 1943, he was the son of the late Robert and Gertrude (Freeman) Shearer and the husband of Carole (Roman) Shearer for 55 loving years. George served our country for the United States Army and then spent his working years as an Entrepreneur, building a logistics business that thrives today. He was the Past President of the Traffic and Transportation Association of Pittsburgh, a member of the Duquesne Canoe Club, and American Legion Post #980. He loved to spend his free time golfing and boating but his family will always remember him for having a great sense of humor and for all of his great dance moves. Along with his wife he is also survived by his sons; Robert (Deborah) Shearer, Scott (Kelly) Shearer, Mark (Kathleen) Shearer; grandchildren, Connor, Maegan, Caroline, Ryan, Nicholas, Patrick, Lauren, Luke; great-grandchild, Holden; sisters, Ilene (Peter) Adzema, Suzie Reiswerg. Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his sister, Roberta (Fred) Luffey. Friends will be received April 5, 2021 from 12-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Per CDC guidelines masks will be required upon entry and social distancing will be observed. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 6, 2021 at 10AM at Holy Family Parish, St. John the Baptist Church. The family asks that everyone who is planning on attending Mass, to meet at church. Interment to follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist.
