George Y. "Bub" Heasley

George Y. "Bub" Heasley, age 99, on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, of Manor, where he was born, raised, and built his home with Norma (Lockard), his loving wife of 60 years.  He was the oldest son of the late Samuel and Catherine (Yinger) Heasley of Manor.  His siblings, Ruth Haven, Brice Heasley, and Catherine "Chick" Kukovich, all preceded him in death.  George was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Coast Artillery Corps.  He spent his career with the Westinghouse Printing Division in Trafford.  Throughout his life, he had a boundless curiosity that led him to pursue many passions, from sports and the outdoors to jazz and ornithology.  A self-trained artist, photographer and historian, he took great pride in chronicling people, nature and history in his paintings and the written word.  He was a volunteer for nearly three decades with Bushy Run Battlefield Heritage Society; co-founded the Westmoreland Ski Club in 1956; was a member of Manor American Legion Post 472 and the Westmoreland Bird and Outing Club; and was the longest participating member of Manor Outing Club.  In addition to his wife, George is survived by sister-in-law Jean Heasley; nieces Jody Towne (Bob) and Bonnie Heasley Godfrey (Phil); nephews, Bryce Heasley (Judy), Allen Kukovich (Nancy), and Barry Kukovich (Mary).  Always young in spirit, his optimism and love of life will be deeply missed.  Friends will be received Friday, Sept. 28 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bushy Run Battlefield Heritage Society (BRBHS), PO Box 468, Harrison City, PA 15636.  www.Lindsay-JobeFuneralHome.com.
