Frederick Douglas “Doug” Luffey
Doug, born on September 13, 1990, in Plum Borough, earned his angel wings as his sweet soul left this earth on June 7, 2022, to be with his Heavenly Father. He was 31. Doug is survived by his loving father Frederick Charles Luffey, Jr. (Stacy) and his adoring mother, Karen Ernst Conrad (David); brother, Daniel E. Luffey and sister, Emily L. Luffey; sons, Grayson Douglas Luffey and Ashton Elias Luffey; grandfather, Frederick C. Luffey Sr and grandmother, Judith B. Ernst; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert J. Ernst Jr. and his grandmother, Roberta J. Luffey. Doug loved his sons passionately and his family with a huge, kind, caring and tender heart. Doug loved making music, particularly playing his drums. He was exceptionally talented at making people laugh, especially when they needed cheering up. He was famous for his impersonations! For years he played drums in church and was a member of several bands over his lifetime. In addition to the drums, he was also skilled at playing the guitar and bass and would sometimes record videos of his music to share with friends and family. Doug was an avid movie fan, enjoyed working out and playing basketball along with fine tuning his spicy culinary skills. One thing that brought Doug much joy in life was helping people. He was very protective and supportive of his loved ones, which included pets. He was great with animals and especially loved dogs. Among Doug’s long list of endearing traits include his sweet and gentle nature, his sense of humor and his exuberant personality. He will forever continue to touch the hearts of so many. Doug was an extraordinary young gentleman, loved so very very much and will be so painfully missed until we are reunited in Heaven. There will be no visitation or services at this time. A memorial for Doug will be announced in the future. Arrangements entrusted to the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747).
