Eleanor Ruth McQuaide Zerbini, 84, of Salem Township died peacefully Sunday,
June 27, 2021, with her family by her side. She was a loving wife, mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born March 16, 1937, in Salem
Township to the late J. Emmons and Rena Elwood McQuaide. Besides her parents,
Eleanor Ruth was predeceased by a sister Betty McQuaide and brothers; James E.,
Bernard C., and John R.. Eleanor, like her Mother Rena, wrote in her diary daily
since 1968. She enjoyed reading, gardening, canning and baking, but mostly she
loved spending time with her family. Jack and Eleanor enjoyed Ball Room Dancing
for twenty years, twelve of which were competitive. She joined Poke Run
Presbyterian Church in 1951, where she served as a Deacon, ordained as an Elder,
served on the Educational Building and Sanctuary Improvement Committees,
Presbyterian Women and The Jr. Women/Circle IV. Eleanor was a long-time, active
member of The Slickville Civic Center. Eleanor is survived by her loving husband
of 64 years Eugene Jack Zerbini; sons, Alan W. and his wife Debora, of Saltsburg, J.
Edwin and his wife Mardi , of Greensburg and Jason and his wife Rhonda, of
Saltsburg. Grandsons; Alan, Jr., Jared, John, Jr., Steven and Daniel. Great-
grandchildren; Julianne, Jacob, Maria, Mario, Gunnar and Levi. A Memorial
Service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Poke Run Presbyterian
Church, 1091 Poke Run Church Road, Apollo 15613, with the Rev. Peter
Goetschius officiating. Per Eleanor’s request, all viewing and burial services were private.
