Doris W. "Spoonie" (Witherspoon) Petrick

Age 93 of Monroeville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Richard J. Petrick. Loving mother of Sue E. Sula, Lynda J. Kawana, and Amy F. (the late Lynn) Schantz. Devoted grandmother to Ryan R. Sula (Tiffany), Lucy Teal (Nino) Kawana, Hayley Jane Kawana (Michael), Brock (Paige) Kawana, Ian Schantz (Erin), and Elizabeth Schantz (Micho). Great-grandmother to Kirsten, Kannin, Daisy, Lola, Atlas, Koa, Navy, and Royce. Also survived by her brother, Robert T. (Nancy) Witherspoon; sister-in-law, LaVerne Crawford; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Lester E. and Sue E. (Teal) Witherspoon.

Doris was a graduate of Wilkinsburg High School and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University. She was a former teacher and retired manager of Willi's Ski Shop in Monroeville. Doris was also an active member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church and enjoyed being a part of the church's bocce team. In her later years, her dog Henry gave her great comfort and joy.

Services and burial will be private at New Lexington Protestant Cemetery in New Lexington, OH. Arrangements entrusted to the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville.
