David  R. Gess

age 67, of Salem Township passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. He was born on September 4, 1952 in Wilkinsburg, PA, to the late Lawrence and Helen (Morgan) Gess. He was an honorary member of the Claridge Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed camping and cooking. David  is survived by his beloved spouse of 38 years Karen (Kenney); brother of Donna L. (Dennis) Platko; brother-in-law of Jerry Kenney; grandfather of Caitlyn Gess. Preceded in death by siblings, Nina Hullenbaugh and Lawrence William Gess, Jr. Friends will be received Sunday 2-6 PM at the Bash-Nied-Jobe Funeral Home, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont (724-468-8381) where services will be Monday, 10:30 AM. Interment will be private. The family kindly suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Claridge Volunteer Fire Department, 3100 Blocks Rd., PO Box 400, Claridge, PA 15623.
