With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Darlene Catherine (McCracken) Marcoz on August 18 at home following a long and courageous battle with heart disease. Darlene was born on April 23, 1949, to parents Minnie (Philomena) and George McCracken. She was such a beautiful baby, strangers would stop to admire her big, blue eyes and blond curls. Darlene grew up to be a beautiful lady, both inside and out. She was Catholic by faith and attended St. Coleman's elementary school, St. Elizabeth's middle school, and attended Gateway High School. Dar is survived by her life partner and soul mate, Richard (Rick) Wakefield. Her daughter, Elissa Spearman, husband John, and their children Mirra and John II, Cousin Linda Bethune and identical twin godsons, Jack and Michael Bethune, and many friends. Dar was loving, creative, and witty. She loved all animals, especially her cats Taylor, Rusty, and Willie. Dar rescued dogs, cats, squirrels, robins, ducks and successfully rehabilitated many "lost causes" with the patience of a saint and ingenious therapies. She will be greatly missed by all. Dar we love you! Special thanks to Hospice 365 caregivers: Ashley, Debbie, Barbara, Chris and Melissa. Jobe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements and burial at Restland Memorial Park.
