Charles "Chuck" R. Stickel

Charles Robert "Chuck" Stickel, 67, of Slickville, died Thursday, May 25, 2023, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. He was born June 24, 1955, in Greensburg, to Robert and Vera Stickel. Chuck was a graduate of Norwin High School and West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he belonged to the Chi Phi fraternity. He was a lifelong member of Brush Creek Salem United Church of Christ and served on the Brush Creek Cemetery board. Chuck was the longest-serving officer of the Slickville Lions Club and was a Melvin Jones Fellowship recipient for his dedication and commitment to the club. Professionally, Chuck spent the majority of his career as a tax accountant with Beckwith Machinery and the Beckwith family. In his free time, he loved to read, golf and spend time in the outdoors. Chuck was best known for his sense of humor, warmth and commitment to his family and community; he will be greatly missed by those he touched. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Antha L. (Elkins) Stickel; loving children, Tiffany (husband, Ross) Lewis and Chase (wife, Amanda) Stickel, all of Virginia; two cherished granddaughters, Roslynn "Rozzy" Lewis and Emma Stickel; his mother, Vera (Grants) Stickel Seanor, of Penn Township; his sister, Kim Porter, of Selinsgrove; his stepsiblings, Dave (wife, Mary Ann) Seanor, Susan (husband, Phil) Miller, Marilyn Costello and Brad (wife, Mary Jane) Seanor; as well as extended family and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Shrum Stickel. A celebration of Chuck's life is planned for 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Brush Creek Salem UCC, 113 Altar Lane, Irwin, PA 15642.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to Brush Creek Salem UCC (at the above address) or to the Slickville Lions Club (memo: Fire Victims Fund) at 122 Country Lane, Export, PA 15632.
