Carmel Marie (DeRiso) Moon
Age 87 of Verona, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Born on May 29, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Palma (Capalongo) DeRiso, and the wife of the late James T. Moon for 54 loving years. Carmel spent her working years as a Bookkeeper for Hazeltine and Greenscapes. Carmel was a beloved resident of Seneca Hills Village and loved to spend her time doing crafts including ceramics and gardening. Her family will always remember her for her strong faith in Jesus and her unconditional love for her family. She is survived by her children; James (Rose) Moon, and Laurie (Michael) Coldren; Cherished Mema to Felicia, Jimmy, Jacqueline, Jayden and Julianna; siblings, Rudolph DeRiso and Tina Sanders. Along with her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her brothers, Martin, Joseph, Neil, and Frank DeRiso. Family and friends will be received Thursday May 11, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:00PM and 6:00 - 8:00PM at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Funeral service will be Friday, May 12, 2023, at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
