Beverly J. (Kampert) Johnston

Beverly J. (Kampert) Johnston, 78, of N. Huntingdon, formerly of Penn Township, died Monday, May 2, 2022, in UPMC Montefiore Hospital. She was born on July 28, 1943 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late John and Josephine (Jaskulski) Kampert. Bev enjoyed many activities such as cooking, bowling, and traveling, and loved to visit the beach. She was a loving sister and mother, who will be missed by her two daughters, Leanne Gilligan and husband, James, and Debra Johnston, all of Greensburg; three step-children, Norman J. Johnston and wife, Margot, of Naples, FL, Bonnie Detwiler and husband, Bruce, of Bridgeville, and Marlene Platz of Naples, FL; six grandchildren, Amber, Leslie, Ryan, Jerad, Justin, and Matthew; a great-grandson, James; her sister, Sister Carol Kampert, CDP; and a niece, Alena Frieban and husband, Dan. In addition to her parents, Bev was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, James Johnston, Jr.; two brothers, Paul T. and Gregory Kampert; and a grandson, Sean. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday, May 6 at Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721. Funeral services and interment will be private.
