Age 90 of Pitcairn, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. She was born on February 9, 1932 to the late Frank and Rose Salamone. Betty Jane was a long-time employee of the Westinghouse Airbrake Company. She was secretary of her union hall Local 610 and worked at Jim and Lena's Market in her hometown of Pitcairn. Her first love was of people, family and animals. Her loving pets that she lost were Skippy 1 and 2, Toby, Miracle, Ginger, Sascha, and Beauty. Betty Jane also loved and enjoyed watching Pittsburgh sports, especially the Pirates. When remembering Betty Jane, remember her favorite words, "Be kind and GO BUCS!" Betty Jane is survived by her son, Charles F. (Donna) Mignogna; sister-in-law, Eleanor Salamone; nieces, Leslie (Don) Pennington, Diane Progal, and Lynn A. Strah; nephew, Eugene P. Larue. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlene Rose; brother, Joseph N. Salamone and sister, Dolores Salamone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022, 10:00 am at St. Bernadette Church-Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish. We will meet at church. JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC.
