Andrew Rasperger Obituary

Andrew A. Rasperger, 98, of Slickville, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at William Penn Care Center Senior Suites. He was born September 9, 1923, in Slickville, to the late Andrew and Julia (Hanovic) Rasperger. Andrew worked as a coal miner 40 years, and was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. He was a charter member of the Slickville American Legion for 75 years, and was a member of the Slickville St. Sylvester Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching baseball and football, and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. Andrew was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Betty (Steele) Rasperger. He is survived by children, Edward A. (Donna) Rasperger and Carol (Dave) Minerd; grandchildren, Nikki (Joe) Zanotti, Chad Minerd and Scott (Deidra) Minerd; and great-grandchildren, Andy and Jack Zanotti, and Lauren and Grayson Minerd. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Andrew was preceded in death by one brother and eight sisters. Friends will be received from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM, Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Bash-Nied-Jobe Funeral Home, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont (724-468-8381), where a blessing service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, April 29, 2022, with Fr. Anthony Carbone, officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park. Per the family's request, masks will be required for the visitation and service.
