Ruth Weller Kunkle, age 96, of Harrison City, died on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Redstone Highlands in Greensburg. Born January 15, 1921, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Beiter Weller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris E. Kunkle; her son, Edward W. Kunkle; and her sister, Wilma W. Kuhn. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lee Ann Kunkle of Carlisle, a granddaughter, Heather (Scott) Shepard; two great-grandchildren, Cassie and Will; a niece, Taryn (Ken) Kline; and great-nephews, Derek and Travis. In World War II, Ruth was a WASP (Women's Army Service Pilot), a ferry pilot of war planes, and tow target pilot. She and her husband Morris were active members of the Antique Car Club of America for many years. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery - Denmark Manor, with Rev. John Ciampa, officiating.
