Rolf L.Patberg. age 52 of Murrysville, PA passed away on November 20, 2018. Beloved husband of Sharon (Krawczyk) Patberg; loving father of Megan (Matthew) Morin, Matthew Patberg, Shannon Patberg, and Alexa Patberg; son of Joan Patberg and preceded in death by Rolf P. Patberg; brother of Eric (Michele) Patberg, Christine Patberg, and Eileen (Richard) Misselwitz, brother-in-law of Thomas (Sherry) Krawczyk and John (Michelle) Krawczyk; son-in-law of Thomas and Peggy Krawczyk, and also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Rolf grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from Langley High School. He continued on to Gannon University and the University Of Pittsburgh School of Law. After graduation, Rolf practiced law for more than 25 years as a trial lawyer, always fighting for the underdog. His value on education was a strong influence on his children and the many kids he mentored and coached. When his day wasn't in the courtroom, Rolf's happiest times were found on a field, be it football, softball, baseball, soccer or a basketball court. He spent 25 years coaching all of his kids on whatever sport they were playing. His greatest joy was watching every child on the team succeed and improve. His love and pride in all things Pittsburgh was the driving force for Rolf and Sharon to establish 30 years of raising their family in Murrysville. He loved his wife, his children, his city and his sports teams deeply. The loyalty and generosity Rolf displayed often happened with no expectation of anything in return. His legacy of compassion and “WILL TO WIN” will continue to be seen through those who love him. Friends will be received at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) corner of Beatty Rd. & 48 North, Monroeville (412-856-4747) on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sarah Heinz House at http://www.sarahheinzhouse.org/get-involved/donate/ in memory of Rolf.
