Raymond Parello

Raymond Joseph Parello, 78, of Sunny Isles, FL passed away at the University of Miami Hospital, September 19th, 2019, following a months-long battle with cancer.
 
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Eleanor; his six children: Theresa Simak, Christine Stinson, Catherine Parello, Chad Parello, Joseph Parello and Jacqueline Cargo, along with 10 grandchildren and countless friends.
 
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of Raimondo and Theresa Parello, and brother of Catherine Vella, Stephen Parello, James Parello and Anthony Parello, he would graduate from Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh. Following graduation, Raymond would earn his Bachelor's at the University of Pittsburgh, before obtaining an MBA from Duquesne University, and earning a Certified Public Accountant's license.
 
After serving in the United States Air Force Reserves, and succeeding as the CFO of Oxford Development Company in Pittsburgh, Raymond moved to South Florida as a partner of Turnberry Associates, where he would go on to help the firm establish itself as one of the prominent real estate entities in the country.
 
Raymond was a generous philanthropist, who had two great charitable passions. He cared especially for Catholic charities and charities that served those with physical and intellectual disabilities. Raymond was a passionate supporter of The Giving Hands, a Jamaican based Catholic school serving a poverty-stricken area of Kingston. He also cared deeply for Schott Communities, a Catholic non-profit which addresses the residential, social and educational needs of deaf and otherwise disabled individuals in South Florida.
 
Raymond was an avid golfer and accomplished author, who enjoyed debating politics, economics, and sports with the people he loved. Raymond will be remembered as a kind, generous, loving man who always lit up a room and lived life to the fullest.
 
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 5th at noon, inside St. Mary Magdalen Church in Sunny Isles Beach, FL.
