Maurice William "Bill" Snyder

Maurice William "Bill" Snyder, 92, of Penn Township, died on Saturday, June 30, 2018.  He was born on September 12, 1925 in Swissvale, to the late Maurice and Margaret (Watson) Snyder. Bill was a veteran of the US Navy having served in World War II and was a member of American Legion Post # 472 in Manor.  He worked for a number of years at Union Railroad and Union Switch & Signal, prior to working at Elliott Company, from which he retired.  Bill was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church and Young at Heart.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Shirley L. McFarland Snyder; two daughters, Louise M. Snyder-Ocepek (Thomas) of Robesonia, PA, and Paula J. Mace (Christopher) of North Huntingdon; three grandchildren, Erin J., David C., and Mary L. Ocepek; two nieces, Sharon Seitz (Paul) and Janice Weaver (Chuck); and a nephew, William Galus (Mary).  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David William Snyder; and sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Bill Galus.  Per Bill's wishes, there will be no viewing. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Tuesday, July 3 from 10:30 AM until the time of funeral mass at 11:00 AM at St. Barbara Catholic Church, 111 Raymaley Rd., Harrison City.  Interment will be private.  Arrangements entrusted to Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721.  In honor of Bill, please do something nice for someone in your neighborhood. www.Lindsay-JobeFuneralHome.com.
