Katharine J.
Age 95 of Westminster Place in Oakmont, formerly of Wilkinsburg and Penn Hills, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Roy A. Connolly. Loving mother of Diann (Walter) Oliver, Roberta (Warren) Ashton, Sylvia (Robert) Babb, Karen (Raymond) Scarpino and the late Linda Meyers; also survived by 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Kay was a longtime member of the Mulberry-Edgewood United Presbyterian Church where she was a deacon and elder, and was active in the Bereans Class. She was also part of the Mulberry Senior Center. She had a heart for volunteering, having put in over 3000 hours at St. Margaret Seneca Place, and was also awarded the Outstanding Service to the Community award through AARP. In her free time, she found great joy in making crafts and taught many crafting classes at Mulberry Church, Seneca, and AARP. In her younger years she was a proud Girl Scout and later a Girl Scout Leader. Kay took great pride in hand making the Starletts Marching Band uniforms in the 1960's. Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) corner of (445) Beatty Rd. & 48 North, Monroeville (412-856-4747). A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with additional visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service.
