John Nicholas Harvison, 85, of Harrison Park, passed away on October 16, 2017 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born on December 19, 1931 in Turtle Creek, to the late John Evosevich and Helen (Sygiel) Evosevich Harvison. John was a US Army veteran of the Korean War (82nd Airborne) and member of American Legion Post 260 in Claridge. He was Penn Township tax collector and treasurer for 28 years. John was a kind man, was always by his beloved Julia's side, loyal to his community and worked tirelessly to positively impact Penn Township. He was a founding member of Rescue 6, and named to the Voter Hall of Fame for 50 continuous years of voting. John was awarded the Penn-Trafford Star 2006 Citizen of the Year for Penn Township. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting. John is survived by his loving spouse Julia Louise Harvison; two sons, John N. (Roselyn) Harvison, Jr. of the Phillipines and Jeffrey Allen (Deborah Ann) Harvison of Wexford; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three sisters, Joanne Harvison of Irwin, Pauline (Paul) Phillips of Penn Hills, and Linda (Marty) Kotok of Penn Twp.; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends and caregivers, Mark and Lori Kelly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Kurz, and brother, Lloyd "Sonny" Harvison. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 at Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017 at Denmark Manor United Church of Christ, 2003 Denmark Manor Road, Export, with Pastor Rich Phipps officiating.
