Connie Close, age 63, of Harrison City, died on Friday, November 30, 2018 in Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh. She was born on September 24, 1955 in Braddock, to the late William and Norma (Schmidt) Spirk. Connie had many hobbies, but especially enjoyed reading, walking, sewing and crocheting, and playing Mah Jong. She loved to spend time outdoors, and cherished time spent with her family. She had worked for over 20 years for Westinghouse and was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church and their St. Peregrine group for cancer survivors. Connie is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Mark Close; two sons, Matthew R. (Alana) Close, Gregory A. (Nicole Shannon) Close; two daughters, Michelle L. Close, Kathryn M. (Eric Curry) Close; granddaughter, Hannah Marie Close; two brothers, Carl (Terri) Spirk and Chris (Laura) Spirk; three sisters, Charlene (Howard) McFadden, Carin (Gary) Westover, and Cindy Spirk; and countless cousins, nephews, and nieces. Friends will be received Sunday, Dec. 2 from 6-8 PM and Monday, Dec. 3 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 11:00 AM at St. Barbara Catholic Church, with Father Michael Sikon, officiating. Please meet at church.
