In 1895 with the financial backing of his father, Elmer Jobe founded a mortuary, ambulance service, livery, stable and morgue at 120 Church Street in Turtle Creek.  In 1900 just five years after establishing Jobe Funeral Home, Elmer Jobe tendered the burgeoning business to his younger brother, Royal Reese Jobe.  The younger Jobe would oversee the funeral services and burial arrangements for families in Turtle Creek for nearly a half century until the time of his passing in 1961.

Upon the death of his father, James Alpheus Jobe picked up the mantle and carried his family’s livelihood to new heights.  During his tenure at the helm of Jobe Funeral Home, James Alpheus Jobe witnessed Turtle Creek’s residential and business community flourish as never before.  In 1974, making way for additional growth in the business district, he moved the funeral home from its original location on Church Street to the site at the corner of Shaw and Triboro Avenues where it stands today. 

After completing the relocation project in 1974, James Alpheus Jobe retired and passed the reins of the business to his son, Roy Reese Jobe.  Roy Reese Jobe, like his great grandfather, grandfather and father before him, would continue to expand his family’s service to the community over the next two decades.

In 1986 Jobe Funeral Home Inc., under the watchful eye of Roy Reese Jobe, expanded beyond the borders of Turtle Creek with the opening of a second location in nearby Monroeville at 3961 Monroeville Boulevard.

In 2003 Jobe Funeral Home Inc. would once again be transformed when Roy Reese Jobe stepped aside making way for the next generation of Jobe Funeral Home family leadership.  As his father before him, Roy Reese Jobe passed the family legacy to his son, James Roy Jobe.

In that same year, James Roy Jobe changed the name of the funeral home to Jobe Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. to attract the rising popularity of families choosing cremation.

Skillfully leading the family business into the twenty first century, James Roy Jobe relocated the Monroeville location to 445 Beatty Road in Monroeville in 2004.  The new location positioned Jobe Funeral Home and Cremation Services in a more inviting area able to better serve families in Monroeville, as well as those who reside in neighboring Plum, Murrysville, and Penn Hills.

We proudly opened our own crematory in 2010 at our Turtle Creek location.  With having our privately owned crematory on site, families have the peace of mind knowing that their loved one will never leave our care. It was at this time that we changed our name to Jobe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 

In 2014, we expanded with the purchase of James E. Lindsay Funeral Home, Inc. in Harrison City to provide services to families in Penn Township and the surrounding communities. At that time the name was changed to Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc.

At the end of 2018, we once again expanded with the acquision of Bash-Nied Funeral Home in Delmont. This gives us the opportunity to further serve the Delmont, Salem Township,  and surrounding communities.
