Kirandeep "Kiran" Khara Obituary

Kirandeep "Kiran" Khara, age 72, of Harrison City, died on Saturday, March 9, 2024, peacefully with her family by her side. She was born on October 22, 1951 in the village of Singhpura, Punjab, India to the late S. Sowarn Singh Randhawa and Sardarni Raminder (Kaur) Randhawa. In 1974, she graduated from the Government College for Women in Amritsar, Punjab, with degrees in Political Science and Sociology, then moved from India to the United States in 1975. Kiran was a member of The Tri-State Sikh Cultural Society in Monroeville. She loved to travel and spend time at her home in Florida. She also loved to shop and was known for her impeccable taste in clothing, jewelry, and handbags. Kiran had a close-knit group of friends that she loved to talk with on the phone and meet for lunch dates. Kiran was kind, gentle, loving, funny, but also tough with a strong will. She was truly beautiful inside and out. Through disease, pain, surgeries, and multiple ailments most of her life, she never complained, felt sorry for herself, or stopped living life to the fullest. Her will to live defied and amazed doctors and everyone around her many times. She was an inspiration to those fortunate enough to know her. To Kiran, her children and grandkids were of the utmost importance to her. She was lucky enough to spend time with them on a daily basis and was her family's biggest cheerleader and strongest ally. A special gratitude is given to her caretaker and loving daughter, Preet, who selflessly dedicated countless hours to nurture her mom and coordinate her healthcare. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Manjit "Manny" Singh Khara, whom she married on December 7, 1974; and a brother-in-law, Harjit Singh (surviving Baljit Kaur) Khara. Kiran is survived by her son, Sanjit Singh (Carolyn Beam) Khara; daughter, Harpreet (Matthew) Oslosky; cherished grandchildren, Alisha and Gia Beam Khara and Jimmy, Ava, Emilie, and Danny Oslosky; brother, Kulbir Singh (Balwinder) Randhawa; sisters, Savdeep Kaur (Daljit Singh) Bajwa and Savrina Kaur Randhawa; Brother-in-law, Daljit Singh (Rajinder Kaur) Khara; and sister-in-law, Kamal Kaur (late Sohan Singh) Chaudhary; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Friends will be received Friday, March 15th from 5 - 7 PM at Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721. A Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 16th at Jobe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 118 Shaw Avenue, Turtle Creek, 412-823-1950.
