AILEEN V. OLSAKOVSKY
(née Alina Victoria Hupert)
Aileen Victoria Olsakovsky, age 96 of Penn Hills, passed away on March 21, 2024, at The Community at Holy Family Manor. Born on April 7, 1927, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the beloved spouse of Andrew S., the loving mother of Andrea (Patrick) Moroney and Adrianne (Mark) Carolla, and grandmother of Kelly Moroney, Colleen (Ryan) Youngberg, and Lena Carolla. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Thomas and Anna (Wasik) Hupert, siblings Hedwig “Vee” (late Bill) Jowers, Kamil “Babe” Hupert (KIA Purple Heart), George (late Irene Lasek) Hupert, Dolores “Dolly” (late Richard) Durzo, and Antoinette “Coke” Hupert, and is survived by sisters Sr. Mary Celeste Hupert and Irene (Steve) Sparte, and many nieces and nephews. Following graduation with Honors from Schenley High School in 1945, she held various positions at The Pittsburgh Press until her marriage in July 1960. During the war years, she was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and was a Bell Long-Distance Telephone Operator. She was a life-long member of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America (PRCUA). Her interests and hobbies included genealogy research, crocheting, sewing, bowling, golfing, playing cards, ceramics, completing crossword puzzles, and watching Westerns. She was an avid reader and a steadfast Pittsburgh Pirates fan. The family expresses appreciation to the staff at Holy Family Manor and Suncrest Hospice, and Tracy Tresky (NP) for the kindness and compassion that was shown to Aileen. Friends will be received Monday, March 25, 2024, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette Church-Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish, March 26, 2024, at 10:00 am.
